Lee Special - Pop Taste Challenge
You will have seen - quite some time ago - we visited soda emporium, Pops, on Route 66 in Arcadia, Oklahoma. Sam's Mum & Dad gifted us a sampling of different soft drinks as one of our wedding presents.
We decided to get a dozen different products and, over the course of our road trip, take part in a taste test. Here is the much-anticipated result in its entirety. Enjoy!

Yay - I like the specials and a tasting special is great fun.
ReplyDelete1) Orange Cream - boom Sam straight in with a 5 out of 5. I'm not a big fan of orange flavoured drinks but if it is like one of those lollies and with the Vanilla flavour, it sounds like a hit to me.
2) Peanut Butter & Jelly - funny confusion over jelly/jello and again Sam straight in with a 5. Not mu cup of tea at all this one. Oh and a Putinesque topless presentation from Lee ;-)
3) Chocolate Bacon - No surprise on the ratings here, although higher than I thought. To me it is just wrong.
4) Berry Soda - no surprise here though, full marks and it just sounds like it'll be yummy.
5) Grass Soda - Funny to see how much Sam was not looking forward to this, you could see she was apprehensive. Good rating though and it seemed ok for both of you in the end.
6) Root Beer - so glad, was worried you'd enjoy it. I think it is disgusting and it always reminds me of germolene.
7) Jarritos Pineapple - I love Jarritos Soda's you can get them in a lot of Mexican restaurants in London. That said, I've never tried the Pineapple as it isn't a flavour I am that keen on.
8)Cherry Jubilee - a surprise, I thought it would score higher and I love cherries/cherry flavoured stuff but if it was really sweet, perhaps not.
9) Ginger Beer - A funny review, Lee giving Sam a bigger portion :-). I am with Sam, I love Ginger Beer but it has to be firey
10) Orbitz - Now that one does sound nice - raspberry - citrus, yum, surprised on the scores given the positive reaction to it you both had.
11) Apple Cider - funny with the smoke out. I had high hopes for this, I like the fizzy apple juice you get in Switzerland which is sharp/tarte and tastes strongly of apples, I'd hopef this would be the same - disappointing.
12) Buffalo Wing Sauce - Again another one that wouldn't do it for me
I liked the way the final scores came in - a really good vid and taste challenge.
Amazing how many of the drinks Sam notes would be better with alcohol in them - just saying!!

ReplyDeleteAnd yes agree with A would have much more understood if it had been Lee that thought a bit of alcohol in some of the pops would have been nice ;-) ;-)
