First we headed to Devils Den Prehistoric Spring where we went snorkeling. This underground spring inside a cave has fossils dating back to the Pleistocene Age. The water was completely clear and swimming around was magical, especially when the sun came out and shone down into the water.
Next, we went to Ickentucknee State Park where we dipped our feet into the springs at the North entrance and then tubed down the river in the South entrance. We were the only ones on the river as it is still the off season and we took the last tram up to the tube stop. The ride was so peaceful and tranquil, apart from when we go trapped on the grass and Lee went into a paddling frenzy to free us.
We camped in Ickentucknee Springs Campground which was a lovely campground close to the park, and again, it was empty in the primitive camping area so we spent the night under the trees listening to the animals.
This is a short blog entry as the video shows how amazing these places were:
Wow an awesome day - the springs looked so cool and you can really see how clear the water was. Made me laugh to see Lee's tentative approach to snorkeling where as Sam was just off.
ReplyDeleteShame you didn't have the swim gear for the other two springs though and would like to see some pics of the camp site as it looks like you were just pitched in the woods.
Tubin' looked great although the camera angle made it look like Sam's head was growing out of lLee's groin at times ;-) Loved the serious concentration when Lee had to apply the power too.
What was on the menu for the day after you packed so much in?
Oh and no post credits scene - boooo.
Chefs Lee and Sam rustled up some bun-less burgers with beef tomato and avocado!
DeleteWow that looked a fantastic day guys.
ReplyDeleteI thought the same, Lee looked a little nervous as he set off Sam straight in hahaha
Haha! I had already had a swim around before the video so was used to the snorkel, it takes a bit of getting used to.
DeleteHaving a little catch up! Amazeballs!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nikki! :)
