Usually there are 50 people on the boat ride but as we were off season, there was 7 of us plus 4 crew members. Our tour guide was a National Parks volunteer called Mike who was very knowledgable and passionate about the park and Chris the captain added humour to the trip. It was definitely worth doing this tour to see the park as 95% of the park is water, the rest are small remote islands that are only accessible by boat.
After Biscayne, we headed down Highway 1 to our campground in Bahia Honda State Park.
Here is a film of our day:
On the way down to Bahia Honda, we saw an ACTUAL car chase, just like the ones you see on TV!!! We were stopped on a side road whilst a stinger was put on the road. A black pickup truck then came zooming past (missing the stinger) followed by about 20 police cars. Lee tried to capture the chase on film (without being noticed by the policeman standing near us), the video is here:
Actually, I think today's vids are my fave, in part because of the great tunes on them both but the National Park trip looked really good. the water was so clear and some great scenery shots and photos
