Day 0 - An Unexpected Evening

We're only on Day 0 yet we have had a superb night! What started as a quiet drink in the Marriott Bar chatting to each other about the trip, ended up with us making some cool new friends who we hope to meet when we make it up to Seattle!

As with most of our late nights, it all started with 'one last drink' before bed. The guys next to us in the lounge were Steve and Kenney who provided us with loads of tips and advise on what to see and do in Oregon: my favourite was never to pump your own gas (let the 'Pump Jockeys' do it - I don't know if this is rude or offensive, if it is, I am sorry!). Lee's favourite tip was about a vegan place in Portland that apparently serves meat but not on a plate to eat! Not sure we'll have time for this one!

When we headed back to the room in an attempt to try to go to bed before midnight (we have a taxi coming at 7am tomorrow!), we found a plate of cheese and a bottle of red wine! So we ended the night chilled out watching Match of the Day enjoying the really tasty cheeses and red wine! Thank you so much Ernie and Kristine from the London Heathrow Marriott for taking such good care of us and making the first night of our honeymoon so special!
